"Doing our annual hearing tests this way saved quite a lot of money this year. I scheduled the tests one month in advance, but one of the guys was sick on the day.
I still had the headset when he came back to work and got the job done with minimum fuss and no extra cost. Highly recommended."

FAQ Section
Industrial Hearing Tests within London and the South East
Any employer with workers exposed to noise at or above 85 dB(A) must provide hearing health surveillance under the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005. In London and the South East, this commonly applies to printing and packaging operations, food production and processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, construction, and logistics warehousing. While the South East is not traditionally seen as a manufacturing region, there are significant noise-generating operations across Kent, Essex, and the Thames corridor.
Equipment sent on-site, no need for an audiologist to visit.
No. Traditional mobile audiometry services charge day rates of £1,000 to £1,700 because they send a van and a technician, and London congestion charges and parking add further costs. Hear 4 The Long Term sends a pre-calibrated headset instead. Your nominated person runs the test, and every result is reviewed by Mark Ashmore, an HCPC-registered audiologist with over 30 years' experience.
Hear 4 The Long Term are the cheapest in the London
HSE hearing surveillance starts from £10 per test. Earplug fit testing starts from £3 per test. Baseline hearing tests for new starters start from £9 per test. These prices are the same nationwide, with no regional surcharges, travel fees, or minimum bookings. Unlike mobile van providers who often charge London premiums, H4TLT pricing is flat-rate regardless of location. Use the Compliance Checker for an exact quote based on your workforce size.
Take our testing equipment anywhere
Yes. The headset is portable and connects to any computer with a USB port. Construction sites in London and the South East generate noise from piling, demolition, concrete cutting, and plant operation that regularly exceeds 85 dB(A). The H4TLT system allows you to baseline test new starters at site induction and run ongoing surveillance without scheduling a mobile van, which is particularly difficult on congested London construction sites with limited space.
The evidence is in the steps you take to mitigate the risk.
Yes. In May 2024, Leyton Group in Basildon, Essex, was served an Improvement Notice for failing to reduce noise above 85 dB. In December 2022, Park Communications in Newham, London, received Improvement Notices for failing to reassess noise risks and having no audiometric testing programme. Carclo Technical Plastics in Mitcham, Surrey, was served a notice in May 2022 for failing to reduce noise exposure in production. Mistras Group in Hertfordshire was fined £26,000 in 2025 for PPE breach, causing worker hearing loss.
